OUGD504 DESIGN FOR SCREEN IDEA GENERATION/NOTES

An app that puts Pantone colours into context. Has relation to the industry, where and how these colours are used. In depth diagram of each years Pantone colour. How will is be used in the world around us? In an app form. Something that documents the most popular colour we see everyday. Whats the most popular colour in the world?

A website that features students work nationally, has edits, articles and interviews. In depth showcase of students briefs. Its Nice That featuring students only. A platform that helps students get theirselves into the creative world. Industry professionals can view this and see work by students across the nation. More formal then instagram. Another form of an online CV. This could even be a an extension of Its Nice That like a separate tab within their website.

Unser interface and user experience (UI&UX) must both be of equal quality so the other works smoothly. They both bounce of each other. Responding to UX with UI. UX is the function and impact. The UI is the form, style and aesthetic.

Group exercise to identify bad UI and UX:

  • Amazon
  • Complicated
  • Too much furniture
  • Difficult to find the contact number
  • Being signed up to prime without knowing
  • One miss click makes buy stuff
  • Too easy to spend money
  • Too many tabs and options
  • Ucas
  • Important website, very difficult to navigate
  • Withholds delicate information
  • GOVUK
  • Could be handling a lot of money and be very confusing to use
  • Too many options
  • Needs to have clearer points
  • Does way too much
  • Information overload
  • Blogger
  • Use it everyday for professional standard work
  • It's really tricky to set up
  • Can't find other people easily
  • Facebook and Instagram on a browser
  • Forces you to download their app
  • For Facebook you just about definitely need the messenger app
  • Instagram on browser cannot post anything, just view
  • E-studio
  • Made for a creative university but done so badly
  • Take ages to find anything

  • Topping up printing credit is like surfing the matrix
  • Takes you to separate pages and URL's
