After finally completing the illustration of the planet, I felt like the whole visual itself wasn't very disrupting given the fact it was already very contextually justified. I had to relate back to my research and find something else to add to the animation that would also make it aesthetically disrupting as much as contextually. Looking back on the pattern of the electromagnetic rays, I ways inspired by the pattern to create a moving background image to disturb the spherical image at the front. This would later go on to generate the final piece for this projects.
These are the waves I initially added to the illustration before animating it. I felt like they were a bit gentle and soft and did not represent the theme of being disturbed very much so it had to seem more violent and jarring. I would further do this by decreasing the spacing between the curves and increasing the size so there was a more jagged aesthetic. After doing so, the sphere merged into the background pattern due to being the same weight. I fixed this by increasing the the sphere's weight slightly so it stood out a bit. Finally, I felt the colour had to be justified, so reviewing some connections between earth and interface I decided to use this neon green inspired by old 90's interfaces and of course the colour of the earth.
