Pictograms , used to warn, guide or protect and be immediately understandable to all cultures

Signs and symbols

Container, represents a fully 4 sided closed box, open top like a box
Protection, represents the grid with a line on the top protecting it from falling objects
Object, a full 4 sided complete object


1938 Charles Morris defined semiotics into three groups
Semantics: sign and meaning depending on context
Sytnax: relations among or between signs in formal structures
Pragmatics: relationship between the sign and the sign user
Circle signs, feeling are stressed more with these signs, viewers place themselves inside or outside the sign
Arrow sign, horizontal arrows direct you on how to move
